Natural Slate

Cupa Natural Slate is the company responsible for the sale and marketing of the natural slate that the Cupa Group, one of Spain’s largest construction materials companies, manufactures. This company was created in 1997 with the objetive of giving service to different markets, and so, Cupa Natural Slate is now in more than 20 countries.

Cupa Natural Slate owes its market leadership to the quality of its slates and its dedication to outstanding quality control and customer service. Extracted from its own quarries, Cupa produces more than 195,000 tonnes of slate annually. Spain is the major slate producer around the world and Cupa Natural Slate is the leader of the sector, in fact, one out of every four slates in the world is a Cupa slate.

Cupa Ingeniería y Servicios, S.A., provides engineering, maintenance and transport services to the mining companies of the Group and is staffed by geologists, engineers and technicians specialised in mining research.

Cupa Engineering and Services carries out preliminary geological research in order to determine the operational potential of certain areas. They also research areas of potential future interest, evaluate resources and analyse the parameters influencing deposits in order to determine their technical and economic viability.

The company is responsible for the presentation of new quarrying projects, and for the decision to open a new quarry. They also manage mining operations.
