Patricia Sánchez: “This is a time when we should thank all those who have fought for years to achieve the rights that we have today”

Patricia Sánchez joined Thermochip last June as prescription manager. Her main role is to coordinate strategies and actions for attracting new customers, as defined by the company. Due to the fact that there is a lack of knowledge of industrial construction and components, she is engaged in key outreach work to raise awareness of Thermochip’s solutions among other professionals within the sector.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

For me, this is a time when we should thank all those who have fought for years to achieve the rights that we have today. It is important to stop and reflect.

How has the role of women evolved in your sector, or over the course of your professional career?

When I started my university course and entered the world of work, construction belonged to quite a masculine environment. This has been changing and, increasingly, my contacts and colleagues within the sector are women. Industrial construction is increasing the number of positions occupied by women.

Have you encountered any problems in your working life due to the fact that you are a woman?

Here at Cupa Group, no, of course. But, in the jobs I had early on in my career, when my contact would often be someone from the building site team, the majority of whom are men, it was sometimes difficult for them to listen to me and carry out my instructions.

What do you think the your biggest contribution to Thermochip has been?

For me, teamwork is very important, and understanding the business’s development from this perspective. My greatest contribution has been to try to communicate this way of creating a team, and to be able to integrate this with my duties. And I recognise that this has been easy because the quality of the Thermochip team is outstanding.

Why would you recommend being part of the Cupa Group team to other women?

Because of the values of Cupa Group. You always feel respected. So far, I haven’t needed anything, or been involved in any conflict, but I’m certain that, if anything came up, they would back me and support me.
