What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
For me, International Women’s Day represents recognition and responsibility. Recognition of the achievements accomplished by women over time, many of which are the result of persistence and determination in demanding contexts. And responsibility, because equal opportunities must be an ongoing commitment, both in leadership and in organisational culture. However, there is still a long way to go before true equality is achieved.
How has the situation of women evolved in your industry and during your professional career?
The role of women in the accounting sector has changed profoundly over the past few decades. Whereas female presence was once more common in administrative or support roles, and men typically held the position of accountant, today in Portugal it is women who lead the profession. They have not only entered the profession but now dominate it. The role of women has evolved from assistant to chief accountant, making it a sector in which they increasingly hold positions of responsibility.
Have you had any difficulties in your professional life because you are a woman?
Fortunately, I can say that I have never faced difficulties directly as a result of being a woman. Throughout my career, I feel I have been assessed on the basis of my work, dedication and results. Of course, challenges exist in any career, but in my case I do not associate them specifically with being a woman — at least, that has never been my perception.
At Cupa Stone, I work with a team made up predominantly of men, and our working relationship has always been based on respect and professionalism. I have always felt that the focus is on competence and responsibility rather than gender.

What do you think your biggest contribution to Barcamp has been?
I believe my greatest contribution to Cupa Stone has been stability and commitment over these 23 years. I have experienced both positive phases and more demanding periods, and in both situations I have consistently focused on fulfilling my responsibilities with rigour and dedication. In the easier years, I contributed to consolidating results and strengthening processes. In the more challenging years, the key was to maintain stability and work towards solutions to overcome difficulties, always maintaining a resilient attitude and never “giving up”.
Why would you recommend being part of the Cupa Group team to other women?
I would recommend Cupa Group to other women because it promotes an inclusive and equitable environment. It treats men and women fairly, offering equal opportunities for growth and professional development.
